In 2012, at the age of 22, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery through the creation of theplussideofme.com, an endeavor initially sparked by my desire to delve into the realm of fashion. The inspiration for the blog struck when I stumbled upon other plus-size women sharing their daily outfits online, and I felt an urge to be a part of this vibrant community. Little did I anticipate the profound impact this decision would have on my personal growth.
The blog became a gateway into the empowering spaces of body liberation, embracing plus-size identities within the fat community. Since those early days, my exploration has extended beyond the digital realm, leading me to participate in various in-person fashion and community events. This journey also saw the inception of a YouTube channel, a stint on a related reality TV show, and the co-founding of a plus-size social group in Charlotte, NC.
