There is a harmony
In autumn, and a lustre in its sky,
Which through the summer is not heard or seen,
As if it could not be, as if it had not been!
– Percy Bysshe Shelley

While I’m sure that some parts of the country have been enjoying autumn weather for weeks, North Carolina seems to have finally joined the pack. The cold has been subtly coming into the area, and today the sky was clear, the air cold, and the leaves were brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow. I love the fall season. For the past four years I have been living in a small mountain town in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. Up there fall would only last two weeks before winter had arrived in its place. I’m happy to be in the Piedmont now and enjoying the longer season. As I hung around campus this week I noticed one accessory everywhere I looked. Scarves, scarves, we can finally break them out and wear them with every outfit. I got a little scarf-jealousy looking at all of my classmates’ scarves. I hopped on over to Target during my break to see what they had to offer. One big complaint is that I want long, long scarves that I can wrap around and around my neck. No such luck. But I did find a light colorful scarf for $3.65. I mean really… can you say no to that?

This scarf by One Star has been attached to my body since I spotted it. It has very pretty blues and magentas, and it has given my sometimes boring wardrobe that extra spark. I paired it with my Torrid faux leather bomber jacket, and my Torrid brand dark wash graduate skinny jeans (these are my favorite jeans, so be prepared to see them over and over again!).

The added color of my scarf gave me a little jump to my step, a little sunshine on a cold day. I’m sure we will soon be seeing the return of the scarf on fashion blogs all around. What are your favorite types? Do you know any interesting ways of tying them?

I hope you are all enjoying the fall weather, and thank you to all the readers/commentors.

It has been a lovely first week of blogging : )
