100 Day Photo Challenge

Hey guys,

If you haven’t noticed.. I’m in a slump, a funk, a what-ever-you-wanna-call-it. I haven’t wanted to dress up. I haven’t wanted to remix clothes for the Spot The Difference challenge. I haven’t wanted to write (and this is the most unusual for me). It’s time for me to turn things around and get something to be excited about. This blog space has been a in-progress project. Sometimes I’m not sure what to share. The fashion side of myself is really just one portion of my life and interests, so where do the rest of my interests fit in? Also, I’m relatively new to blogging, so while some of you may feel that you know me a bit, others may not, and I understand that. So I’ve decided to do the 100 Day Photo Challenge which I found on a friend’s facebook page. I have no idea where the challenge originated, so unfortunately I can’t fully source the idea, but here is the challenge:

I’m hoping this provides a place for me to introduce to you different aspects of myself, while also giving me something fun to do on a daily basis on the blog.

So, here’s to Day 1!

15 Facts about Me:

1. I have 2 sisters, 1 brother, and 2 brother-in-laws. All of us range somewhere on the scale of “fat”.

2. In high school I was on the flag team, which heavily used dance. I loved it and was one of the captains my junior and senior year.

3. I’ve never been in a committed relationship.

4. I almost failed out of college my first semester, but I didn’t let that stop me from trying harder the next semester.

5. I was in a music fraternity (all-girls) during under-grad. I can play the clarinet, French horn, and a few notes on the flute.

6. I grew up Catholic, and was an altar girl. During Mass I would yawn to see if the boy I liked in the pew was looking at me. (Because, you know, yawns are contagious :))

7. I didn’t start loving English classes until my senior year of high school. I went on to major in English, Secondary Ed, and am now studying composition for post-secondary ed.

8. A close friend of mine died when I was 15 in a car accident involving alcohol. It shocked me to my core and still greatly affects the amount of people I let get close to me.

9. I’ve had a bunch of different hair colors, from almost white-blond to black, and various degrees in between, with a few instances of burnt orange when going between the two spectrums :-/!

10. I really love Western N.C. literature, and Native American literature, specifically Ron Rash and Sherman Alexie.

11. Oh, and Adolescent lit. will always have my heart.

12. Many of my closest friends are artistic- musically, with graphic design, writing- I admire them a lot.

13. My Nonna (Italian for grandmother) is 99 years old. She only speaks Sicilian, so I’ve never been able to have a conversation with her. Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if my parents had stayed in Michigan. Would I be able to talk with her? What relationship would we have?

14. The majority of my family works in the classic car industry. I’ve been around those cars all of my life, and yet, I’ve barely ridden in one!

15. I’m both excited and terrified for my future, and part of me wonders when I became so fearful.
