Whheeew! It has been one busy week, and obviously I’ve been neglecting my blog because of it. With midterms fast approaching and with my Lola girl getting spayed, I’ve been busy shuttling to and fro, and now I’ve finally had a moment to sit down and breathe. Lola is doing well and recouping from her operation, and she also was named the “cutest” by Old Navy in their pet competition on twitter.

It didn’t have a prize, but I still got pretty giddy that my pup won. I tried to celebrate with Lola, but she was doing this.

I’m sure it’s a hard life being a puppy :-p! But anyways, I hope to post some OOTDs later this weekend, and for now I’m going to catch up on my 100 Day Photo Challenge, which I’m WAYYY behind on. After today, I’m only going to post these every 5-7 days since I don’t want to clog up my blog with them.

100 Day Photo Challenge:

Day 13 – A picture of your favorite band or artist

(source)

Ingrid Michaelson — I especially love “The Way I Am” and “The Chain”.

Day 14 – A picture of your favorite store

(source)

This was hard to pick, because I buy certain items from different places due to fit. Lately, though, Macy’s is the only store where I find multiple things I want to buy IN-STORE, which is nice, because a lot of times I can only find things on-line.

Day 15 – A picture of something you want to do before you die

(source)

I want to travel to London and other areas of the UK preferably for 3 weeks or longer!

Day 16 – A picture of someone who inspires you

(source)

Lesley Kinzel of the blog Two Whole Cakes. ‘Nuff said!

Day 17 – A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.

Obviously, being a dog owner changes many things about your daily life. She’s definitely changed my life for the better.

Day 18 – A picture of the sexiest Woman alive

(source)

Plus model: Fluvia Lacerda. She’s gorgeous!

Day 19 – A picture of something you love to do.

(source)

Nothing’s better than spending the afternoon/evening at the movie theater!

Day 20 – A picture of somewhere you’d love to travel

(source)

Besides the UK, I’d love to visit Italy. I’d really love to go to Sicily and see where my father’s family is from.

Day 21 – A picture of something you wish you could forget

(source)

When I was younger, my family and I visited a museum. They had wall-art similar to the one shown above and had markers set below it at different craft tables. We thought this meant what we could color in the wall. Five minutes into our coloring bliss, a frantic worker ran up to stop us from defacing the wall. It was not a coloring activity. Oops. Still one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.

Day 22 – A picture of something you never leave the house without

(source)

Mmmm, Burt’s Bees

Day 23 – A picture of your favorite book

(source)

I love way too many books to truly narrow it down, but this is ONE of my favorite books and one that I will be writing about soon in an academic class. This is an excellent adolescent literature text!

Day 24 – A picture of someone you miss

I miss a lot of people: old friends, lost friends, my roomies from college, my old coworkers, my past students. Unfortunately, I don’t feel comfortable posting any of their pictures, so you’ll just have to understand that they are missed.

Day 25 – A picture of you from last year

Day 26 – A picture of something that means a lot to you

I feel like I’ve kind of already done some of that in an earlier prompt, but I guess it would be cards and letters that my students wrote me. I would go take a picture, but honestly this blog post is nearing an hour to complete, and I’m just damn tired!

P.S. Isn’t this the longest, most tedious post ever?! I’ll be amazed if any of you make it all the way through 🙂

  1. I made it to the end – in fact, i was never not going to. I love this challenge, and its been great to get to know you through these pics.
I had noticed that you hadn’t done any for ages, but thats ok, I quite like getting all the weeks answers in one go.
And congrats to Lola for being cutest pup.

  2. I think the photos were a great way for your readers to get to know you! I enjoyed it. Thanks for the tip about Burt’s Bees lip balm. I need something like that. I’ll be keeping up with your blog from now on. It’s very entertaining & informative.

  3. Hi Rebecca! I saw your latest post on F*CK YEAH CHUBBY FASHION! and ended up being completely sucked into your archives 🙂 This may seem weird, but I can’t help but feel like we’d be friends if we knew each other in real life, and this post totally clinched it. Ingrid Michaelson? Dogs? Movie theaters? BURT’S BEES (totally the elixir of life)? Sherman Alexie? We could SO hang out. It helps that I’m a native New Englander planning a move to NC by this time next year [I was literally born to be Southern, it’s not even funny, and I’m terribly glad to have met my (NC-native) partner, because otherwise I wouldn’t have had an excuse…] AND that I’m looking into graduate programs to get a Masters of Art in Teaching… I just find it really exciting to have come across someone whose blog reads as though I could have written it myself 🙂

And, of course, your sense of fashion is completely enviable. I wear the same sizes as you, but my proportions are completely different, and I totally envy your courage and keen sense of style! Keep it up!

    1. Thanks so much Weezie! I’m always looking for more friends so if you ever want to talk I’m always chatting on Twitter :). There are a lot of great schools in NC (and the tuition prices are much better in-state here than other places), so hopefully you find the right one for you! Hopefully by this time next year I’ll actually be teaching. Thanks for the lovely comment!
