Ok, guys, it’s confession time. It’s been about 8 years since I last confessed, so it’s about damn time.

I am a serial clearance section stalker.

Yes, I constantly have my eye out on all of my favorite stores’ clearance sections, and I very rarely go more than 3 days without checking my favorites out.

It sounds like a problem. I mean who really should be stalking a section of a website that religiously, but it’s my guilty pleasure. And sometimes that guilty pleasure pays off in glorious ways.

During my latest stalking, I noticed a Calvin Klein blazer was in the clearance section. I tend to organize the items by price since I’m shopping on a tight budget, and I was not expecting that brand name in the lower prices.

Lucky for me, this originally priced $109 blazer became mine for a nice $26.

This blazer has a really cool finish that I don’t have the technical words to apply. It looks almost like suede in the picture, but it’s definitely not. Either way, I love that the material gives it a relaxed look and that it’s not too business-wear. I was worried that the blazer would be too small in the arms since I got it at Macy’s (which goes up to a 3X/24), but the arms are roomy! It’s slightly too long on me, but at 5’4″ it can’t be helped. Of course my obsession with coral-red had to come out again, so I paired it with a v-neck tee. I’m all about v-neck tees this season. They’re very casual, but also sexy.

The blazer called for great fitting jeans, so I had to pull out my City Chic jeans which I’m sure you’re all getting sick of now ;).

P.S. Do you see the shrine to my brother on the upper left hand corner?!! Just kidding, I’m there somewhere underneath, just not in that huge of a picture.

I also added on a turquoise/silver necklace that I absolutely love, but that does not look great with my other accessories. This outfit still needs one more accessory or a great clutch.

I really love this necklace and the geometric silver beads.

So although my compulsive clearance checking is a little much, it has definitely paid off by getting me this blazer. I feel like I stole it since I got it at such a discount! I wore this out to dinner with my family, but I could just as easily see myself wearing this to go get drinks with my friends or heading to the university for class.

Do you have any odd shopping behaviors? (And it’s totally possible that mine’s not odd at all!)

What has been one of your best fashion steals?

  1. I am an obsessive clearance shopper (stalker) too. Nothing makes me happier than having my patience rewarded. The other day I scored a top and khaki skirt at Target for $16 together. I was so pleased with myself. I rarely ever buy anything full price.

    1. Yes! I think you said it perfectly. Being rewarded for not immediately buying the item at a high price is so great. I don’t buy full-price very often either. If it’s not clearance, then I most likely have a coupon.

  2. I am not a obsessive clearance shopper, but I do like a great deal! I think my obsessive habit is going on to my favorite websites and finding the new stuff. But I love looking at clothes. You did score a great buy, and I have been thinking about a blazer for sometime, maybe this needs to go on my list.

    1. Yeah, I do that too! I think the reason I focus on the clearance is so I don’t go crazy buying a bunch of full-priced items. Basically, I just am addicted to shopping. I really do need to calm it down a bit though. (That statement kind of makes me weep).

  3. I don’t think it is odd at all – if anything, it is smart! I mean, the money you saved on the blazer can be used for other clothes/accessories/shoes. Hahaha.

I’m an obsessive clearance shopper too. Or just shopper in general… which is why I’ve cut way, way back. I like to check the sale/clearance sections on websites periodically but especially in-stores. I feel like there are some really amazing deals when things get lost on the clearance racks for a few months.

In my browser, there is probably 1-3 stores open at any given time with lots of stuff in the basket. Online window shopping is fun! But kind of dangerous…

    1. Lol, I like how your thinking goes with mine. Hmm the blazer is only $26, so I can also buy… I agree, online window shopping is VERY dangerous. I need to take some notes from you and cut back.

  4. LOL. I think we have really perfect timings. I ALSO just bought my one and only fitting blazer and just blogged about it! But i think i am more jealous of yours because it is a CK blazer afterall and such a steal. I love blazers. I just want to wear them with every dress i have!

  5. I wish I was as dedicated to finding deals, I need to be however!
The blazer is a great find, and I am JEALOUS!
The brother picture made me laugh, my older siblings got HUGE framed senior pics and me and my little sister got SQUAT… parents, you suck 🙂

  6. I obsessively shop the clearance section, too! I check online every couple of days and I usually have my online cart full at 2-6 stores at any given moment. It’s definitely a bit of an addiction, but it’s hard to give up when you’re scoring great deals!

Love the blazer. And the price on the blazer of course. That’s an awesome deal and Calvin Klein is a great brand in my experience (in terms of both quality and fit). I used to work at Macy’s and I am so missing my discount and excuse to shop right now!

    1. Yeah, I agree! It’s worth the time when you save money on great products. I could never work at Macy’s. I’d buy EVERYTHING. I worked for Gap and Old Navy for almost 2 years, and that was incredibly dangerous on my wallet. I swear the majority of my paycheck went right back into the store!

  7. I, too, am a compulsive clearance checker. I mean, how can you not be, with all these great steals to be had? I particularly love the ASOS sale section, as well as DP and Yours Clothing. I would probably be buying a lot from Macy’s and Target too, but they don’t ship here 🙁

As for the outfit, loving the blazer (what a steal) and I agree with Jess that a jumbo clutch would look awesome with this.

  8. What an amazing deal on your blazer! And yay for meeting a fellow serial clearance section stalker! Seriously, clearance sections are like my second home. I think my best finds to date would have to be skirts at Old Navy clearanced down to less than $1 each.

    1. Oh wow! That is a good deal! Most of mine tend to be expensive (80 or more) items that I’ve gotten down to $25 or less. P.S. I took a look at your blog and you have great fashion! I will definitely be reading more of it! 🙂

  9. I shop more when I’m out of money and when I have cash I never buy anything. In my opinion that’s odd. 😛

Love the blazer by the way!

  10. oo I love this especially the little pop of colour! I didn’t even know CK did plus sizes!
I’m not a clearance section stalker but I am an online shopping stalker! I check ASOS Curve & New Look Inspire daily, if not hourly to check if there’s any new stock. Writing it down makes it seem even more cray cray than it is! But it doesn’t matter if I’m in or out, on my laptop or on my phone, just woke up or going to bed, I will check LOL

    1. LOL, yea writing it down I feel like I have a problem, oh well! 🙂 I check things on my phone now too, especially if someone tweets about an awesome sale. My iPhone is ruining my life, ahah.
