A few weeks ago I entered Monique from Curves and Chaos‘ giveaway for the following Torrid dress.
And lucky me, I won! I was completely excited to receive the dress because I had already been in store and eyed it. I had expected it to take a couple weeks, so when I unexpectedly received a Torrid box my immediate thought was “Oh, no.. my online shopping has gotten out of control because I don’t even remember getting something from Torrid.” (Sign of shopping addiction, anyone?!)
When I opened the box, I immediately spotted an envelope, and I breathed a sigh of relief for my credit card :). Torrid sent me a lovely congrats note for winning the giveaway, and that’s when they let me know that they had sold out of the size I needed in the dress. They decided to send the dress anyways in the size they had left (a size 2) for me to try or give to a friend, and then also sent me two additional dresses to make up for not being able to send it in the correct size.
I, of course, had to try them all on just in case, and again, lucky me, they all fit!! 3 dresses for the prize of 1! I really had hit the jackpot!
I wore the dress out to celebrate Mother’s Day with the family, and I’ve worn it so many times since! The skirt was a little tight at the hip, but after wearing it for a little while, it stretched slightly and was a perfect fit. I’ve worn it with and without the belt, and also with an ivory cardigan instead of the jean jacket. I’m sure you’ll see this pop up on here some more this summer.
I has a really pretty paisley pattern, and incorporates my favorite color of the season: coral!
I love how the bottom changes up the pattern a little to give the dress some more interest.
What do you all think?
P.S. Here are the other goodies Torrid sent me.
A huge thank you to Monique and Torrid for the prizes!!
Congratulations! Such beautiful dresses – I think my favorite one is the one you are modelling!
Thanks!! Unfortunately it has shrank a bit after watch. 🙁 Next time I should read the directions on the tag, huh?!
Eee! Congrats! I love a lot of Torrid’s stuff, I just can’t justify the shipping to Australia! I really love the belt!
I’ve heard a couple people say that. They need to figure out better international shipping options. Thank you for commenting, Natalie :).
OMG! Talk about lucky! Can I get you to rub off on my lottery tickets? 😀
Seriously though, I love the dress! It looks so comfy and chic and you look great in it. I also like the second dress with the stripes and floral print… I think I need both of those in my life. lol
Lol! If only I could win something like a lottery prize! I sometimes win on the cheap scrape offs ;)! Thank you for the comment. It’s a lovely dress, and I ended up liking the stripes/floral one even better :).
I saw this post this morning on twitter, and came to your blog and my jaw hit the floor! You look absolutely STUNNING in that dress! and how lucky is that to WIN it?! I just won Gabifreshs’ contest for a polka dot dress from F21, and felt like I won the lottery but man! Lucky girl you! can’t WAIT to see the other pieces on you!!!
and also a big congrats on the 4.0! 🙂 All those trials are bringing triumphs for you, and I am SO happy for you!!! 🙂
Thank you so much!! 🙂 Looks like we are both lucky winners 🙂 I can’t wait to see the dress on you! I hope your A+ class went well!
i’ve been eyeing that maxi. i love the boho feel. very cute. i want it!
I love it, but it definitely shrank upwards after wash. I’m thinking about chopping off the bottom and making it a shorter dress now.
Super mega score! AND it looks adorable on you.
Thank you!! 🙂
I love that dress! It is beautiful!, I love the pattern, is also very light and comfortable! I look forward to his new ootd with floral print dress and scratches.
Greetings

Thanks!! I really like the paisley pattern and that it incorporates a lot of colors. It’s perfect for the summer 🙂
Lucky you! I want to win cloths as well, not buying them! Hurts the wallet to much when you’re a poor student. I like the second dress the best, so cute! Love how it looks like a skirt and a top. It’s like: Surprise, surprise! 🙂
Thank you by the way. I have always found my name a little strange, with the z and all. But the good part is that I have met like one other person with the same spelling!
Yeah, there are so many clothing giveaways on blogs, so it’s really worth taking the 5 minutes to enter! I’ve gotten a pretty good amount of things from them. I used to babysit a girl named Isabel, and I always thought it was beautiful–regardless of spelling 🙂
