OOTD: Easy, Breezy Summer

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, then you know I have a soft spot for floral prints. Not only do they work perfectly in a spring and summer wardrobe, but the colors and patterns just brighten my day. When I went to Macy’s this week to return a couple things, I spotted this cardigan in the America Rag section of the store. Yep, I’m one of those people, who go to return items and leave with the same amount of things. But anyways, this cardigan pulled my attention and when I tried it on, I kind of fell in love.

The cardigan is light and sheer, which is absolutely perfect for the summer time. It has hints of orange, pink, green blue, and I’ve worn it with this green tank and a pink one since I’ve gotten it.

I added in some texture with the braided neckline tank top from Old Navy that I’ve had in my closet for years, and kept the look light with a lighter wash jean from Yours Clothing. Not such a fan of the way the jeans rinse darkens near my stomach, but what can ya do?

The sleeves have the same type of butterfly feel to them as the top in my last OOTD, which adds to the easy, breezy feel of the cardigan.

I added on some gold and wood bangles and a Forever21 ring that picked up the orange color from the cardigan.

I also added simple earrings from Forever21 that reminded me of the weaving detail on my tank top and kept my hair simple as well since North Carolina’s humidity is killing me.

Detailed look at the flowered print.

Well, I don’t have much to say. I feel like I’m kind of in a waiting game right now. I’m taking a two week course that is not really pushing me intellectually, and my eyes are set for the day after my final when I get to run off to the beach with some aunts and cousins. Might as well fill my days with pretty things then, right? ;).

What is your easy, breezy outfit? Do you prefer relaxed, simple looks or are you a dressing-up kind of person?

  1. As far as my style goes, I think I’m an in between kind of person… I like to feel comfortable (flats please!) but I also want to have an edge to my style (hello chunky jewelry!) I love this whole look especially the cardigan! It’s definitely something I would rock. I love pieces like that because they are so comfy yet they take a simple outfit to the next level. You look amazing as always! 🙂

  2. I really love this outfit for numerous reasons, but one being it is awesome inspiration for my daily wearing jean and jean capri habit 🙂

Finally have internet at home again! I have missed thee! 🙂

  3. Cute summer jacket!

I don’t have any easy-breezy clothes. Nothing about hot weather is easy for me – I hate it. I spend as much of summer naked as I can!

    1. I wish I lived alone so I could spend most of the summer naked. LOL! Or in a house without a giant front window… sigh.

  4. My easy clothes are usually a cami and an Avenue dress, sans accessories. They dress up pretty well with the right shoes and accessories, so it can be really easy to go from lazy to semi-dressed up.

For me, it just depends on how I’m feeling – I can do casual or dressed up but the heat makes me default to as lazy and as little clothing as possible.

  5. Love the outfit! I’d actually call your cardigan a bed jacket….just much sexier and alluring….and its made out of chiffon, so hence more bed jackety than cardigan! Anywhos, I loves me one whatever its called, and you’re totally rocking this one!

I more often than not dress casually, but thats usually because thats what I throw on! However, I’m drawn to the dressier side of things, I do like a nice pair of chinos and simple tee, or long skirt with trainers, or a rolled up pair of beaten up looking jeans, but for the most part, if its girly and looks like you’d wear it to high tea, I’m sold!
