I was asked by a couple people if I wanted to go shopping on Black Friday, and I kept saying no, thinking that my day would be better spent doing homework and such. Apparently, it is really easy to fool myself. While I didn’t miss the craziness in stores, I definitely spent a good bit of time scouring online sales and picking up some items at awesome deals. Once it was all over, I counted how many things I got, which was 15! I feel kind of like that woman on Target’s Black Friday ads because I was seriously giddy about these items. I usually don’t buy that many items at once, though, so I’m sure some nice buyer’s remorse/guilt will set in tomorrow, but until then, I figured I’d share with you all some of my finds.

The first store that owned my soul was ideeli.com. Ideeli has short sales with different designer products marked down, and they were majorly marked down for Black Friday.

I started off with some accessories:

Cynthia Rowley P3 Frame Sunglasses  in Indigo

Cara Couture Pave Chain Link Necklace in Gunmetal/Silver

Olivia + Joy Miss Priss Satchel in Red

Then I picked up two dresses from a brand called Tiana B. I’ve never heard of the brand, but figured it was worth trying them out. If they end up looking horrible on me, these two will end up on eBay!

Tiana B. Sheer Matte Jersey Combo Dress

Tiana B. Jersey and Lace Dress

I also bought two handbags from Aldoshoes.com since they were having 30% off of already reduced items sale.

Grisso Handbag in Purple

Calvary handbag in Med/Silver

I had been waiting for the Old Navy Black Friday sale, because I was really wanting a red toggle coat they had, but when I woke up at 7am this morning, it was already gone. *cries* I still managed to get a cute peacoat and the much needed Christmas pjs!

Women’s Cropped Wool Blend Peacoat in “Pool Felt” aka Green

I’m still having trouble understanding why Old Navy named this color “Pool Felt”. I get that it’s a shade commonly seen on pool tables, but that name just makes me want to run away from this coat rather than buy it. Good thing I didn’t look at the color title until after the purchase!

 Christmas-appropriate PJ Pants

I also scooted over to Nordstrom.com since they were having 50% off of select styles. I love the selection at Nordstrom’s, but it can be a bit pricey, and they don’t often have sales. Thankfully, they have free shipping and returns, so I decided to try out some dresses from brands I haven’t bought from before (besides Suzi Chin).

Calvin Klein Colorblock Dress

I think this dress showed up on a wishlist on this blog once. I’m really hoping it fits well!

Alex & Ava Jersey Wrap Dress

I’m in love with this print!

Suzi Chin for Maggy Boutique Belted Batwing Sleeve Dress

DKNYC Tie Neck Blouse

On my last and final stop, I picked up two great jackets/coats through Avenue’s 50% off code: AV111324

Boucle Jacket

And the 2nd is a replacement for my well-worn leather jacket that looks, well, VERY well-worn.

Knit Inset Motorcycle Jacket

I’m cutting myself off from buying clothes for myself for the rest of year, but I don’t think I’ll be without lots of choices with these purchases. Black Friday, you were oh-so-good, but it’s going to take me awhile to pay the damage you caused ;).

What deals did you get on Black Friday? Get anything fun for yourself or loved ones?

  1. I love the stuff you got! “Pool Felt” is definitely a hilarious name. Is that really the best they could do? I already own a kelly green coat. They are fun! The batwing dress looks so classy and so YOU, hope it works out! The tie really makes the dress with the voluminous sleeves. I’m happy to see that you’re continuing your “obsession” with coral. So am I. 😉 I’ve been thinking of it as a spring/summer color but it works well with fall colors too for a pop of brightness/

I actually managed to not shop today… well until I told someone that (jiinxed myself), then I used my eShakti credit. But does that count? 😉 I did get more stuff for my money since they are having a big sale, so that was nice.

Most years, I have zero desire to go shopping on Black Friday. The insanity and drama does not appeal to me at all… but last night I was very, very tempted to check out a couple of stores that were opening at midnight. Thank goodness I had to work at 8am – otherwise I might have gone!

  2. You found awesome stuff!! LOVE LOVE LOVE That necklace. And the color block dress. I can’t wait to hear your reviews on everything. Interested in what you are going to pair the tie neck shirt with – love that style of top. I didn’t do any shopping on black Friday. I have a 1 and a 2 year old so, regular shopping is insane enough for me! lol

  3. i don’t do a lot of black friday shopping, but any protester that tries to keep me out of a store if i do decide to shop will get a lesson in physics —- two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. —– and any protester who tries to sit in front of my business on any day will also get a lesson.
