Hello, hello! It’s Five Take time again, and this week Nicole, Gina, Becky, Claire and I are taking on the theme of Tribal! I promise that I wear clothing more often than Five Take, but I’ve been really busy with classes and work, which equals me wearing similar outfits almost every day with a wet bun. I’m going to try and plan my outfits for the week today (something I’ve never done before) and see if that helps me with getting ready quicker and having looks that are blog worthy.

But anyways.. on to TRIBAL!

I really loved all of the tribal prints that came out this past summer, but when I looked back in my closet, I realized I barely bought any of it. The only item that was close to being tribal was a print tank I bought from Forever21+ (and wore here). Last time I wore it with bright pink and sandals, so I decided to take the tribal print in a completely different direction.

I wanted to wear my new boots, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to mix the tribal with a bit of grunge. I don’t typically wear leggings, so this was a stretch for me. I wasn’t completely comfortable with them, but I liked their look better than my jeans in this outfit. I added on my olive green Yours Clothing jacket that also evokes a grunge/utility feel through the metal accents and pockets/cut of the jacket. Here’s some detail shots:

Yours Clothing jacket, Forever21+ tank top, Style&Co leggings, MLE boots, Nasty Gal earrings, Vintage button ring (self made)

I enjoyed this week’s Five Take theme. It pushed me out of my comfort zone like every good Five Take theme should do, and I got to wear some accessories that I’ve been neglecting. I’m excited to see how the other Five Take ladies have channeled tribal, and you should check them out, too!

How do you wear tribal? Do you prefer muted prints or more colorful tribal pieces? What do you think of my version of tribal?

    1. Thank you! I have to admit that I don’t know what “festival chic” is. I’ve heard some bloggers talking about festival, but it must be a cultural thing that is specific to the UK cause I have no idea, haha. You’ll have to tell me about it sometime!

  1. I Loooove this outfit on you! You could model this for a catalogue. It is right on. I love the patterned shirt, jacked and boots with the so in leggings. The accessories add to the outfit. I would love to have the jacket. Anything that goes over the hips and lengthens the frame is a hit for me! Perfect for heading out to class. You will get the looks of admiration!

    1. Thank you Denisa! I was a little bit “eehhh” about the leggings, but I’ll have to keep trying different things with the boots :). I’m always feeling like my modeling sucks, so I had a giggle at your model comment. I think I need to just accept that I model in my own way and it doesn’t have to be perfect.
