One of my absolute favorite events during Full Figured Fashion Week was the “Curves at Sea” all-white sunset cruise. Trying to find a white dress in plus sizes is not an easy thing to do–especially if you’re trying to make sure to not get a white dress that every other girl will be wearing. Surprisingly, I didn’t see any doubles the entire night — just shows how resourceful we can all be ;).
Nicole and I went down to the lobby and had the doorman take our picture before we met up with Olivia and her boyfriend fiance, Ben. We both went for gold accents with our dresses, with me leaning towards glittery and floral accessories and Nicole going with braided accessories with turquoise accents. With Nicole, I’d been talking with her for over a year and half. I felt very comfortable with her like we had known each other for years, but I’ll admit I was nervous about meeting Olivia just because I can be so shy. Little did I know, no one can be shy around Olivia! She is so energetic and open. Us three had a great time over the week!

Aren’t they gorgeous?!!?!
We also got to meet Beck from The Manfattan Project — A plus size street style blog! She is hilarious and sassy, and all of her outfits the entire week were amazing.

After all of the rain, I was so, so happy that it was absolutely beautiful out and the perfect temperature.
Olivia was smart — high heels off!
Me and Ylenia from Longuette. I was SOOOOO excited to meet Ylenia! I think we found each other’s blogs over a year ago, and she is blogging from Italy. I love hearing about plus size fashion through the lens of Italy, and check out her shoes. Hot!

Love this photo of Nicole
Little did I know that right after I took this photo with the Statue of Liberty in the background the sweetest moment ever was about to happen.
Ben proposing to Olivia!!
Can you tell I was surprised?! Shaky hands came about, and I started hitting Nicole on the arm so she didn’t miss the moment.
I love everyone’s faces in the backgrounds of these photos.
So sweet!!
The lovely couple after Olivia dried her happy-tears.
The proposal was pretty much the sweetest thing ever, and they became a FFFWeek legend. All week people were coming up to Olivia asking if she was the one who got in engaged during the cruise. Ben even did a celebratory dance (grind?!) with Gwen Devoe. HILARIOUS!
Now on to what I wore! Nicole was kind enough to snap some outfit pictures for me, so here’s a detailed look at my outfit.
I chose this Avenue accordian pleat dress with mesh and lace detailing at the top. The dress came with a rope belt, but I switched it for a ribbon I picked up from my local craft store. In hindsight, the shoes were kind of off, but oh well! They are from Clarks and were more comfortable than any other heels I own.
I was trying to wear my hair off to the side, but that became too much of a hassle. I loved showing off my gold rose earrings from Aldo though!
My favorite parts of the dress were the lace sleeve detail and the back lace piece. It felt really romantic and made the piece feel much more expensive than it was.
My purse was Aldo, and I added on a big, blingy cocktail ring that I bought years ago from Forever21.
Avenue dress, Clarks shoes, Aldo clutch, Aldo earrings (accessories should still be carried in store)
What do you think of my look? What kind of look would you want to wear to a white-dress-themed cruise?
