Wednesday night was the Curves, Connections, and Cocktails event, and Nicole and I were tired by then but decided to still go. We didn’t end up staying long because I wasn’t feeling too well, and it was a different kind of event than I thought it was going to be. I was expecting to be able to talk and network with other people, but the music was very loud and the few conversations I tried to have just weren’t working. Regardless of my expectations and how I was feeling, everyone was having a great time. Just that the club scene isn’t really my scene!
Curvy Cabaret performing — great singers!
Before we headed home, Nicole and I stopped to get quick OOTD shots. I was looking a mess by the time these pictures were taken, but oh well!
I wore a Tahari Woman sequin dress that I had picked up months before in an Ideeli.com sale. It’s long sleeved normally, but that wasn’t going to work in June. This dress is probably the most body conscious one I own, so I felt a little out of my element, but if there’s anywhere to try new things it’s NYC!
The sequins on this dress run vertically, and it’s a knit dress so there’s plenty of stretch. I love the length of this dress. Just long enough to not have to worry about riding up, but still shorter than my typical dresses.
I added this metallic Neiman Marcus seashell clutch that I bought off of eBay. I originally was going to use this clutch with my white cruise outfit, but it worked out saving it for this look.
Do you wear body conscious dresses?
I saw so many variously shaped women wear them at FFFWeek and look completely amazing. I’m going to have to try out more styles to see what works for me!
