I was kind of wavering on whether I wanted to go out on New Year’s Eve or not, and I finally decided to go be social. I am meeting some friends for a late dinner at a somewhat casual restaurant then we are heading to a bar in Charlotte. Last year, a lot of people were wearing cocktail dresses, but there were also plenty of people wearing jeans (including me!). I went to a couple stores today and there were barely any dresses in stock, which was really surprising. That said, I dug through my closet and pulled out some possible choices, but now I need YOU to help me pick my central piece. Since it’s possible that we only go to a casual place, I’m not sure whether the dresses will be too fancy or if I should just throw caution to the wind and go with the dressiest piece. Below are three dresses (with my head cut off because I look atrocious today), and then a couple pictures of “outfits from the past” that I could change up a bit and wear out.

Which do you think is the best look for a NYE outfit?

Feel free to leave tips on how you’d accessorize your outfit choice:)

  1. Is #2 what you wore when you took photos on the street in New York? I remember those photos better than anything else you posted this year because of how totally bangin’ you looked. So that gets my vote! And, it’s New Year’s, so sparkles are ALWAYS appropriate, no matter where you end up going.

  2. Hi I dont know You like a queen
whatever you put on you look wonderful and sexy as a man Its touch It will be easier if i was woman Theres more to choose make my fingernails black or red for the new year and wear
a black or red dress or number 3 . As a man I love a woman in tights it hugs the Buttocks to the legs they look so sexy. My sister has so much clothes and wants to buy more but goes nuts because she does not know what to wear To me if i was i woman i want have that problem But every one is not the same Use you best judgement I cant help it you are beautiful in anything your wear.
Keep looking you best IN 2013

  3. Well, it looks like #2 is the most preferred. I like it, too. But I like #1 better assuming you really bling it up. I don’t like @3. I love the look of #5 but don’t think it’s fancy enough for NYE. But whatever you wear, you always look spectacular. BTW, I’ve ordered the red crochet/lace dress from Dressbarn via their web site along with two other dresses.

  4. I like number 4 the most. A little glitter is never wrong on New Year’s Eve. 🙂 Number 1 would be my second pick.

    Happy New Year!

  5. 2 or 4! Even if you’re “overdressed”, NYE is THE one time of year where it’s really ok to pull out all the stops! Listen … when I was in my early 20s, I distinctly recall going back to work after NYE, and a coworker asked me how was my holiday, did I go out? & I answered truthfully – I did, I had a wonderful! time, AND I was surprised how many people were in tuxedos that year! and her mouth fell open, because she knew I went to a “local bar” type of place BUT – it was NYE! everyone pulled out ALL THE STOPS!!!

  6. #2 by far!!!! It gives you a really nice shape and it’s really flattering!!! Not to mention it’s sparkly 😀

  7. 2 for dressy and 4 for casual. 1 is nice but when saw 2 I knew that one was it for New Years. have a wonderful celebration with your friends.

  8. Number 2 if you want to pull out all the stops. But, being that I’m a jeans girl, if you want to be comfortable no matter what, I would go with #4. It has bling which makes it “celebratory” but is casual too! But I’m one who sometimes doesn’t feel “physically’ like myself when all dolled up. Ultimately, go with what will make you feel most relaxed and open to a good time and good converstation!

  9. # 1 , with a purple belt , I scrolled down to see if you have one 🙂 . Purple is a ‘New Year’ colour , well in the U.K it seems to be . A silver purse/clutch would look nice as well .

Have a lovely evening when you go out .

    From , Sarah .

  10. Im a sucker for a pleated dress so #1 gets my vote and #4 because of the belted sparkly top. Although you are going to a casual restaurant NYE is all about glam so glam it up with #1!

  11. All look fab on you, however I REALLY like #1 if you want to wear a dress. OR #4 if you want to wear jeans. I find myself being a lot more comfortable with jeans as I tend to get hot in a dress, must be because I get nervous ha!

  12. Number 2! 4 if it’s cold. But I guess it’s never really cold over there. (Hey I don’t know, I’m Finnish, we had -27°F for Christmas, lol)

  13. Hi 🙂
I would choose the first one or the second one – but if you´re sitting a lot, the first one is falling better and makes a nicer bodyshape! or the glitter-top, I like that one to! the leodress makes you look a little pale… better with sunkissed skin 😉 !
    Greetings from Germany!

  14. I love #2 because SPARKLES. #4 is also sweet, I’m pretty sure I would feel most comfortable wearing it myself, just to be with friends. You look fabulous and you’ll make the best choice!

  15. I don’t think you can ever over dress on NYE! It’s the one night of the year you can go all out. No matter where you are! So in saying that I vote outfit 2. But outfit 4 is also super hot so if jeans are more the bill then go for it 🙂

  16. I know I’m terribly late… but I love number 2. You look great in everything but I love that one best…
