During FFFWeek, Lane Bryant is holding a blogger conference, and as part of that, all invited bloggers are participating in a style off. While I’m not necessarily a “competition” kind of person, it does feel like one large “five take” post with all bloggers taking on the challenge to style an outfit differently. Lane Bryant sent us all a $200 gift card and set us loose to pick an outfit. I chose to purchase mine online during their BOGO free sale, so I was able to get my entire outfit PLUS another dress that I will wear to the beach next week. Here’s the outfit I put together for the challenge.

I had previously tried on this batik dress in store, so I knew it was a good fit and style for this “style off”. The top is smocked and is expandable, and then the bottom skirt has a double layer that gives the dress movement as you walk. What drew me to this dress was the mirrored print and the vibrant colors. I picked up on the coral accents with my shoes and belt. I don’t have a lot of fancy sandals, and I was kind of shocked how comfortable these were. I guess I thought sandals like these would be tight against my ankle, but these jeweled sandals fit perfectly. I finished off the look with the studded jean jacket, which is my go-to choice to wear over a dress during spring/summer.

Lane Bryant will post all of the bloggers’ looks on their Facebook page through an application, and you will all be able to vote on your favorite look once they are posted. A few blogger friends have already posted their looks on their personal blogs. Check out how Hanna, Dani, and Bella Styles styled their looks.

I’ll be sure to tweet and post the link once all of it is loaded. I’m looking forward to meeting the Lane Bryant team in NYC.

Did any of you take advantage of their BOGO sale? What would you have picked to make your styled outfit?

*All items chosen by me and paid for by Lane Bryant. These items reflect the honest pieces that interested me as a shopper. Thank you, Lane Bryant!

  1. Love this look and I love the sandles too! I bought a similar dress on-line from another company but mine is a maxi. Mine seems a bit more bold in its paisley print so I’ve been a little afraid to wear it as yet, but your denim jacket is something I will copy! I did take advantage of the BOGO at Lane Bryant but spend my money on trying some of their bras, as I had 2 underwires finally break in the last 2 weeks. I won’t even tell you how old they were. Me and bras do not have a good relationship as far as finding something comfortable, supportive, and flattering goes. Bras have become live a purse is to me – I’m always searching for that one that suits ME perfectly!
Can’t wait to see the other Lane Bryant looks. Great job Rebecca!

  2. I love this dress and jean jacket combo on you! I didn’t take advantage of the BOGO last week but I did take advantage of the 50% off the entire site a month or so ago. They are doing great things. You look BEAUTIFUL!!!

  3. I love this print on you!

I’m torn about smocked dresses. I love the extra room, but I think they can often look cheap. Like the company was trying to save money on design and manufacturing costs, so they just added accordion stretch instead of proper tailoring.

    1. Yea, it’s nice for various body shapes, but I tend to not buy many dresses with smocked tops either. Actually, thinking about it, I prefer ones with the stretch in the back rather than all over.

  4. I love the outfit and especially the little sandals. It is the time of year when we can take off those heavy shoes and let the old dogs breathe. You sure got a good deal with the bogo free. I have tried Lane Bryant on and the line does not fit me as well as some others. The pants run small.

  5. Cute! I’m obsessed with anything print!! Especially dresses!! It’s great how you are so involved with the entire plus size fashion community!! I wish I could get involved with the plus size companies and get free stuff!!lol

  6. Great look, I’ll be posting my look for the Lane Bryant Style Off on Monday, can’t wait to meet all you fab ladies at the conference!

I wish I would have seen that jacket, too cute!
