I’m using my lunch break to blog about Eloquii because I am so, so excited about their return! If you’ve never heard of Eloquii, here’s a horribly brief history. Eloquii launched a couple years ago under the brand The Limited. I really enjoyed the clothes they had. It was often higher quality, trend driven, but also appropriate for work. They tended to have a more “night out” style or clothing and a “in the office” attire. I, personally, could not fit into all of their clothing (size 14-24), but those that I could wear were great, and I still have them. The Limited closed the division in 2013, and consumers were not happy about it. FYI: All images are clickable and will take you to the product’s page.

From Eloquii’s press release:

The company did not foresee what would happen next: dozens of influential fashion bloggers and loyal customers took to digital and social media to express their loss of a favorite fashion resource, demanding ELOQUII’s return.

I can’t help but remember Marie Denee’s open letter to the brand. Plus size women want a brand like Eloquii, and luckily many of the original team have worked to structure the renewed and independent brand of Eloquii that launched today.

“Our goal for ELOQUII is to be the leader in fashion, sizes 14-24,” states Mariah Chase. “We’ve listened to what customers thought about the brand prior to closing, and took this knowledge to build an improved experience that delivers an on-trend and price-conscious brand for a consumer who quite frankly hasn’t had the fashion options she should.”

“We want consumers to see ELOQUII as their go-to destination for style inspiration,” explains Jodi Arnold. “Most designer, contemporary, and fast-fashion brands do not offer our size range, and what IS offered is missing the mark in our opinion. Our girl knows all the emerging trends, she just wants them to be executed tastefully, in her size and more importantly, readily available.”

I caught glimpses of the line yesterday on Eloquii’s instagram page. Customers will be able to tag images of themselves wearing ELOQUII with the #XOQ hashtag.  These images will populate the website and showcase the ways customers are wearing and styling the product.

For me, Eloquii is a step in the direction I want to go on stylistically. I wish the line included more sizes (that’s my forever wish about everything), and the price range will sometimes be out of my range, but I am happy that this is out there.

I’ve already picked up the following two pieces to see how the fit will be for women who straddle the lines of 24-28. I’m claiming “research” on this purchase :).

What do you think of Eloquii’s relaunch, new direction, and styles? What’s your favorite piece?

  1. I think its great that they came back and nice that they have on trend fashion; however, I wish they carried some staple pieces that aren’t so trendy. I miss that I could find suits that I knew would last me for years.

    1. Yea, I wonder if they will work toward balancing their old look and their new one. Last time they were under The Limited, which was obvious in the workwear they had, and now they’re not. I know a LOT of customers are saying they loved those pieces too, so I hope they listen.

  2. I too think it’s great they’re back. The prices are a bit out of my range right now but hopefully I can add a few pieces to my collection. I especially love the top dress with the hand embellished neckline and there is a similarly styled top I’m dying for already.

    1. Yea, there prices are out of my normal range too. I splurged, and I’ll find out soon how I feel about the pieces with that splurge. It’d be great if they did a more affordable line alongside the collection pieces. I think they eventually will because a lot of the items above are their “studio” line, which is their more expensive line.

  3. I have several Eloquii pieces but I found their sizing to be very deceiving. The cuts and some of the materials were not body friendly or comfortable. I did enjoy the styles so I hope to see improvements!

    1. I have heard from a couple bloggers who previewed the line that she shapes are less boxy than last time. I hope tops are a little longer. Last time most sweaters were too short on me.

      1. The sweaters were short and I found the petite pants to be very short in the torso. I also hate that clingy material that some of the dresses had. I hope the new line is better because the clothes did look beautiful.

  4. I’m excited they are back, but preferred the style before the relaunch. Before they had great career pieces and now it’s all skater dresses.

    1. a lot are skater or body con. Supposed to be 25 new styles every 2 – 3 weeks, so it will be good to see what else they bring out. A lot of people like the new style, but they are Eloquii and have a history that others want too. I wonder how they will hit that balance now that they are no longer affiliated with The Limited.

  5. I think the floral panel skirt is beautiful. And the prices aren’t too bad considering what Lane Bryant charges for some of their stuff. At least with Eloquii I feel (and this of course is just my opinion) that the quality is a bit better. I had great luck with their skirts in the past and found the sizing to be pretty accurate when I chose cuts/styles that work with my shape (not everything in my size always fit). I am so pleased Eloquii is back and that the company will be featuring customers (not just professional models) on their website — that’s definitely exciting. Good news!

    1. Right?! I love that they will feature customers. From what I can tell, they were really inspired by what the community said, and I think they are willing to listen into what the plus size woman wants and needs. That said, they are developing their own niche, which I like. I really don’t want too much workwear like some others want, but maybe that’s because I feel like LB is doing that so well lately.

  6. I really love the new direction. There are more things I want to try than I can afford! I’m grabbing a couple of pieces right now and I’m going to see how they fit. Perhaps it’s because I’m on the West Coast, but there seem to be a number of pieces here that would work for the office.

  7. My issues are (1) the fact that they don’t carry my size at all (I tried a few things through Gwynnie Bee that didn’t fit; and (2) it isn’t new and different. Similar pieces are available from ASOS Curve and Mynt 1792 (to name but a few). I don’t like trash-talking retailers who do make an attempt at plus sizes, but I don’t like when those retailers cap at a 24, either. I will be interested to read your reviews & see how you like the items you ordered. I hope they come into their own, design-wise, and MAYBE start carrying to a 28.

  8. I am really excited to see this new line. I think it’s fresh and fun. Can’t wait to hear from you how you like the dress. I love that one!

  9. Hey sweety, I’m not sure on what size you are, but I was drawn to find you after seeing some photos of ffw and finally seeing someone who was my own shape and size.
I love fashion but I find it hard to follow so many bloggers as they are way smaller than me.
I vary between a 24-28 myself, so I hope that we are similar In style, I’m in Australia and we have nothing to offer above a 26 and even then that’s only 1 store .
