I started the year off with the Harry Potter series. I’ve read these many, many times. I have to read them in order, and I read all of them in a row. The first couple are so close to the movies that I’m never surprised by anything, but the later ones always have details that I’ve managed to forget. Multiple reads allow me to enjoy the craft of some of J.K. Rowling’s lines. Also — January tends to be a depressing month for me, so a comfort book is just the thing to make it through those blues.
