100 Day Photo Challenge: Days Sixty-Six – Ninety-Four

Oops, I’ve really neglected this challenge, but this semester has been truly challenging for me. I’m still in the midst of exams, but I turned in one portfolio today and decided to reward myself by blogging a bit. I hope this lets you know more about me!

Day 66 – A picture of you doing something childish

Here I am carving a pumpkin a few years ago during undergrad. I do plenty of “childish” things, but I’m smart enough to not let them be captured on camera ;).

Day 67 – A picture of you falling

Ok, so I’m not so much falling as I am jumping, but I mean really, what does this challenge want me to do? Go outside and fall just to take a picture of it?! I don’t think it has my best interest at heart, haha. P.S. I am in Madrid, Spain in this photo. Awesome :).

Day 68 – A picture of you outside

I’m posing here with a sculpture (obviously) in front of my music fraternity’s national center. This is probably one of the few full-body shots I allowed in the last few years previous to blogging.

Day 69 – A picture of a crazy night out

The night started out fun, and only got better from there. This was one of those parties that years later we still reference it as one of the best and craziest parties we have attended.

Day 70 – A picture of someone you don’t go a day without talking to

This kind of changes depending on where I’m living. Right now it’s probably my mom, but no matter where I live I almost always talk to my sister, K., on a daily basis. Sometimes it’s just by e-mail or text, but we talk a lot.

Day 71 – A picture of you with people you work with

I don’t currently work with anyone, but this was my last main job. I worked for Gap, Inc. and loved it for a majority of the time. I’m not sure I’ll ever have coworkers that made such good and fun friends again.

Day 72 – A picture of you with unbelievable scenary

I already posted the picture of myself with the best natural background, but the Sacre Coeur is pretty nice too ;).

Day 73 – A picture of you somewhere warm

Boone, NC on July 4th. It was hot and stuff.

Day 74 – A picture taken professionally

Graduation from college  announcement picture

Day 75 – A picture of you receiving a reward

Not sure I have one of those, so graduation will have to do!

Day 76 – A picture of you drinking something

The end of the drink is better than drinking one? Yea, I’m just going to go with that.

Day 77 – A picture of you and friends making silly faces

My senior year of high school on a band trip to Virgina Beach, VA.

Day 78 – A picture of you in the dark

Bonfire with friends in the mountains = amazing.

Day 79 – A picture of you in the water

This is the closest I have. Maybe this summer will be different?

Day 80 – A picture of you and someone you love being silly

I make much better funny faces than this, but this will do :).

Day 81 – A picture of you with a character

Well hello there Belle :). Walt Disney World makes this picture possible.

Day 82 – A picture of someone you love asleep

Bahahaha, yes. I’m the kind of friend that will sneak pictures of you when you fall asleep in your car with your mouth open.

Friend of the year, for sure.

Day 83 – A picture of you and a teammate

Ok, so I guess I do have a picture with trophies? Either way.. TEAMMATES!

Day 84 – A picture of a school project

Edited out my last name, but I put this hand in my elementary school in ’99, and a family friend found it and sent me a pic recently. Kind of cool to know that what I did then is still there.

Day 85 – A picture of your favorite holiday

I love myself some Christmas!

Day 86 – A picture of someone who helps you with school

My mom is my personal editor, whether she likes it or not :).

Day 87 – A picture of someone you grew up with

Cousins as kids…

Cousins as adults (sort of)…

Not much has changed, huh?

Day 88 – A picture of your dream car

I don’t really think about stuff like this, but I’ll take this car for sure.

Day 89 – A picture of you at a hotel

I can’t believe I actually have a picture, but this was last year in Asheville, NC. This is when I first started getting into fashion and brave enough to wear a dress out.

Day 90 – A picture of you wearing your favorite color

I love green, so this pic from a few year ago will have to do. I’m always wondering: should I stay brunette or go blond?

Day 91 – A picture of you and your friends playing a game

Day 92 – A picture of your school

Day 93 – A picture of your favorite board game

LIFE!! I loved this game when I was younger… and I may have possibly downloaded a version for my phone and play it when I can’t fall asleep.. maybe.. possibly.

Day 94 – A picture of you and your friends eating

Ok, this may be a bit AFTER we ate, but it works. This little shot makes me really miss my old life in Boone with friends. 😦

I hope this wasn’t too tedious! It seriously took my 2 1/2 hrs to do all of it. Kind of ridiculous!

That means I’m beyond deliriously tired, so off to bed for me.

Lola also says good night!

100 Day Photo Challenge: Day Forty-Nine through Sixty-Five

Day 49 – A picture of you and your best friend(s)

A. (in blue) and C. (yellow) are my best friends. I met A. in the 7th grade, and I met C. in my first semester of college. C. and I didn’t care for each other at first, but we grew on each other :).

Day 50 – A picture of yourself

Me in my high school days getting ready for a colorguard (flag) performance.

Day 51 – A picture of you wearing sunglasses

Photo taken by the one and only A. during undergrad. We were overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. She loved the picture, and I didn’t care for it because of my double-chin. She was right, and I was wrong :).

Day 52 – A picture of you dressed up

I was all dolled up for my senior prom. I didn’t care for my hair, but I felt beautiful that night.

Day 53 – A picture of you in a car

I’m in the driver’s seat of the car with my cousin. It’s my dad’s old Cadillac. Just posing, of course, because he’d never let me drive it :-p.

Day 54 – A picture of you on your last vacation

I unfortunately cannot find ANY pictures of my last vacation, which was to visit C. with A., but I do have some pictures from the one before that where I went to Lake Lure, NC to be a bridesmaid in my friend J.’s wedding.

Day 55 – A picture of you with a date

Umm, I guess you’ll have to refer to my prom date up there, because I don’t think I have pictures of my other “dates”.

Day 56 – A picture of you all bundled up

I lived in the mountains for 3 1/2 years, so I was bundled up a bunch of times! This was at a football game. We were all making fishy faces because we’re cool like that. (Just let me lie to myself, guys)

Day 57 – A picture of you in your backyard

I can’t seem to find one, so instead I’m filling in one of my brother from back in the day.

How cute! What happened? hahahahah, just kidding.. kind of

Day 58 – A picture of your hair all done

This is me, on the left, at my eldest sister’s wedding. I was 15 years old. Loved my hair!

Day 59 – A picture of you at prom

This is my junior year prom dress.

Day 60 – A picture of you at a sports game

I look so interested, right? :-P. Go Apps!

Day 61 – A picture of you in the fall

Fall in the mountains with my friends being weird. You know, the usual.

Day 62 – A picture of you on a ride

At the beach some time in high school. I can’t believe I found this picture, actually. I miss those times.

Day 63 – A picture of luggage

A photo of luggage AND me, which I can’t believe even exists. A. took this during our France/Spain trip when I was a senior in high school.

Day 64 – A picture of you at work

Because I can’t find one, I’ll leave you with this little treat.

Day 65 – A picture of you at a park

A. and I at a park in Spain… but it may have been France. It’s all running together now. We were eating the broccoli trees. Yep.

Hope you enjoyed getting to know a little bit about me, and have fun with all those pictures from my past 🙂

100 Day Photo Challenge: Day Twenty-Seven to Day Forty-Eight

I’ve been a major slacker when it comes to my 100 Day Photo Challenge, so I hope you guys are still with me on this, and I have some pretty good pics for you today :).

Day 27 – A picture of your favorite night

I have lots of favorite nights, but this party during my undergrad college years was one of the best. I think it was the first time that I felt like I really had a lot of good friends in college, and I could just enjoy being out and young with them. Plus, there were so many funny things that happened that night, and it’s one of those parties you refer to years after.

Day 28 – A picture of your favorite place in the world

Boone, NC is by far my favorite place. This is only a picture of the historic downtown area, but it’s nestled in the mountains and is my home away from home. I really love the area, and the way of life up there where creativity, learning, and relaxing are valued. I’d fully consider moving back one day. Wish I could just move my whole family up there!

Day 29 – A picture that can always make you smile

This is a picture of a REALLY funny play my mom and I went to this past summer in Asheville, NC. It’s The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), and they recreate his plays in a very funny way. It was at an outside and free playhouse, where people brought along wine and snacks. It was a fun experience that always brings a smile to my face.

Day 30 – A picture of your favorite quote

I love this movie way too much, and I want Kathleen Kelly’s life.

Day 31 – A picture of food you made

I made a bowl of Capt’n Crunch today. Does that count? This isn’t my bowl, because I had already eaten before I started this whole thing :).

Day 32 – A picture of what you did today

This is me everyday. Ugh, my life. I need to back away from the computer. I’m either on here or doing school work. Either way, I’m working my laptop to death.

Day 33 – A picture of somewhere you went today

I looked back at my actual Day 33, and I was going to school. I’m still getting used to my new university, and I’m finding new things every day!

Day 34 – A picture of your favorite morning

This was a toughy, but this is what I get to wake up to on most days, so every morning is pretty amazing.

Day 35 – A picture of your hometown

This is where I live, in a lake community that used to only have a Kmart and has now grown ridiculous amounts. The place I lived as a child is not the place I live now, even if it’s the same house and neighborhood. There are new things everywhere and tons more people.

Day 36 – A picture of your pet

Lola’s getting bigger!

Day 37 – A picture taken at school

I’ve edited this picture to hid my students’ faces, but here we are on my last day student-teaching. We were reading a The Odyssey and had a Greek feast. I kind of have to laugh that all of my students were taller than me.

Day 38 – A picture of your favorite drink

Mmm, Fresca.

Day 39 – A picture of your favorite food

Eggplant Parmesan, for sure. I am 1/2 Italian after all.

Day 40 – A picture of your friends

These ladies are my closest friends! Two of them have been close friends from middle school.

Day 41 – A picture of your favorite weather

With my favorite season comes my favorite weather. Mountain weather = lots and lots of wind. I love a fall day where you need a jacket with a cool breeze in the 60’s.

Day 42 – A picture of you listening to music

Here I am at a Time Warp party listening to music and about to get my dance on :).

Day 43 – A picture of you celebrating

I believe this was either my 20th or 21st birthday out with friends.

Day 44 – A picture that describes your life

This is a picture I took of my friend, but the items closest to where I was at were all of my books and papers. Yes, this is my life. I can’t wait to graduate in another year!!

Day 45 – A picture of your favorite cartoon character

Oh yeahh!

Day 46 – A picture that you edited

I edit a lot of my pictures, mostly just cutting it down to the size I want. If you want an example, see the one with me and my old students!

Day 47 – A picture of your favorite animal

Day 48 – A picture of you more than 10 years ago

Ridiculously cute. I know. 🙂

Catching up & 100 Day Photo Challenge: Thirteen – Twenty-Six

Whheeew! It has been one busy week, and obviously I’ve been neglecting my blog because of it. With midterms fast approaching and with my Lola girl getting spayed, I’ve been busy shuttling to and fro, and now I’ve finally had a moment to sit down and breathe. Lola is doing well and recouping from her operation, and she also was named the “cutest” by Old Navy in their pet competition on twitter.

It didn’t have a prize, but I still got pretty giddy that my pup won. I tried to celebrate with Lola, but she was doing this.

I’m sure it’s a hard life being a puppy :-p! But anyways, I hope to post some OOTDs later this weekend, and for now I’m going to catch up on my 100 Day Photo Challenge, which I’m WAYYY behind on. After today, I’m only going to post these every 5-7 days since I don’t want to clog up my blog with them.

100 Day Photo Challenge:

Day 13 – A picture of your favorite band or artist

Ingrid Michaelson — I especially love “The Way I Am” and “The Chain”.

Day 14 – A picture of your favorite store

This was hard to pick, because I buy certain items from different places due to fit. Lately, though, Macy’s is the only store where I find multiple things I want to buy IN-STORE, which is nice, because a lot of times I can only find things on-line.

Day 15 – A picture of something you want to do before you die

I want to travel to London and other areas of the UK preferably for 3 weeks or longer!

Day 16 – A picture of someone who inspires you

Lesley Kinzel of the blog Two Whole Cakes. ‘Nuff said!

Day 17 – A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.

Obviously, being a dog owner changes many things about your daily life. She’s definitely changed my life for the better.

Day 18 – A picture of the sexiest Woman alive

Plus model: Fluvia Lacerda. She’s gorgeous!

Day 19 – A picture of something you love to do.

Nothing’s better than spending the afternoon/evening at the movie theater!

Day 20 – A picture of somewhere you’d love to travel

Besides the UK, I’d love to visit Italy. I’d really love to go to Sicily and see where my father’s family is from.

Day 21 – A picture of something you wish you could forget

When I was younger, my family and I visited a museum. They had wall-art similar to the one shown above and had markers set below it at different craft tables. We thought this meant what we could color in the wall. Five minutes into our coloring bliss, a frantic worker ran up to stop us from defacing the wall. It was not a coloring activity. Oops. Still one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.

Day 22 – A picture of something you never leave the house without

Mmmm, Burt’s Bees

Day 23 – A picture of your favorite book

I love way too many books to truly narrow it down, but this is ONE of my favorite books and one that I will be writing about soon in an academic class. This is an excellent adolescent literature text!

Day 24 – A picture of someone you miss

I miss a lot of people: old friends, lost friends, my roomies from college, my old coworkers, my past students. Unfortunately, I don’t feel comfortable posting any of their pictures, so you’ll just have to understand that they are missed.

Day 25 – A picture of you from last year

Day 26 – A picture of something that means a lot to you

I feel like I’ve kind of already done some of that in an earlier prompt, but I guess it would be cards and letters that my students wrote me. I would go take a picture, but honestly this blog post is nearing an hour to complete, and I’m just damn tired!

P.S. Isn’t this the longest, most tedious post ever?! I’ll be amazed if any of you make it all the way through 🙂

100 Day Photo Challenge: Day Twelve

Day 12 – A picture of something you love

Since the picture of something I hate was food, I will stick with that theme and show you the other side of my tastes.

Today while I was out running errands with my sister, I ran into girls like these.

And they happened to be selling the most amazing cookies. So a picture of something I love is this…

Thank you Girl Scouts of the USA :)!

100 Day Photo Challenge: Day Eleven

Day 11 – A picture of something you hate

I remember once hearing a stupid fat joke that gravy ran through fat people’s veins.

Well…. I hate gravy.

If any sauce were to run through my veins, it’d be chunky tomato sauce, because that stuff is good.

100 Day Photo Challenge: Days Nine & Ten

Hello all, I forgot to post a pic yesterday, mostly because these prompts are requiring me to post pictures of some of my loved ones, and I’m not quite sure that they want their pictures saved. Makes it a bit hard, huh? Because of this, I’m only posting pictures of those that I ask permission, which means, at times, I’ll have to post cartoons or something to represent the person I’m discussing if they don’t want their picture on here. This is further complicated by the fact that only one of my friends reads this, and only one other one knows about it, besides family. I think I’d be fine with my close friends reading this, but I’m not sure I want every person from college/high school reading my blog. Anyways…

Day 09 – A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most

This is easy. She’s been there to band-aid up my scraps from falling off my bike, took me to hard to face events, let me cry on the phone to her my freshman year of university, and still lets me bitch and moan when I feel less than adequate.

My mom.

Isn’t she beautiful?

Day 10 – A picture of someone you do the craziest things with

This prompt is a bit harder. My “crazy” days are mostly in the past. The craziest I get now is staying out past midnight–ridiculous!! I kind of act like an old lady now. I guess if I were to have to narrow it down, it would be my friend A from an earlier 100 Day Photo Challenge. She always gets me into crazy situations. Like the time I went to visit her, and her and her mother made me go to karaoke. Little did I know that her mother’s friend was bringing her new boyfriend. A man who thought he was the next Elvis Presley. We end up spending the entire night with a drunk older man who had grand delusions of his singing ability. I thought his name was John. A thought his name was Pat. Therefore he became John-Pat-Elvis.

P.S. Just saw an interview with Ashley Fink on ET. LOVVVVVVVVE her!

100 Day Photo Challenge: Day Eight

Day 08 – A picture of your most treasured item

I, again, had a hard time thinking of one treasured item. For the most part, I do not have certain items that I keep around me. I have some things my maternal grandmother gave me, but ultimately it is not the item that sparks deep feelings of love/nostalgia, it’s the memory itself. That’s why my most treasured items are old pictures, cards, and bits and pieces of my life. Old home videos, photo albums. I love it all.

To almost everyone this looks like a normal case. I got it during Christmas time around my middle school years (12-13 years old), when everyone gave each other bath products because we didn’t know each other on a deep level. Shortly after receiving this, I started using the case to tuck away photographs and other little things.

Eventually it started piling up. I have items in here from early 2001 and new items from 2010.

Here are a few of the contents: a letter from my 6th grade teacher that I adored, my senior prom picture, memorial card from a funeral, a drawing that a family member did.

Every time I go through it I find things that I had forgotten about. Like this picture, which was from my sister’s birthday party.

What’s your most treasured item?

100 Day Photo Challenge: Day Seven

Day 07 – A picture that makes you laugh

I don’t even know where to start with this photo. This is one of my friends; we’ll call her A. We were at a Chinese buffet, and she is holding a shrimp shell. Somehow this turned into the Ghost of Shrimpy Past, and has been a fixture in so many jokes since. It’s one of those stories that just isn’t that funny when you tell it again. But I love this, and I love the friendship I have with the people involved in this memory.

100 Day Photo Challenge: Day Six

Day 06 – A picture of a person you’d love to trade places with for a day

This was a hard prompt to think about. There are many people that I’d love to trade places with for a day. I suppose I chose Emma Watson because I’m a bit of an Anglophile. I absolutely love reading about the British culture, and I want to go there so badly. Trading places with Emma would, I’m sure, allow me to visit any place the I chose. Not to mention she has killer style, and I could spend all day trying on her clothes. I might also add that I’m a huge Harry Potter fan, so I’d probably spend all day trying to talk to other cast members.
