There were 132 entries for the ASOS giveaway, and only 2 could win. Who won? Check below!
Congrats to The Two Cent Chick and Swordlily! I will be in contact today to get your ASOS Voucher codes squared away :).
Thank you all for entering!
Today I am in my own personal little snow globe, and I keep finding myself going between responding to student work, watching movies, and perusing online shops. Something about being shut inside is dangerous for my online shopping moves, and with many in the country currently experiencing this snow, I thought you all may be interested in doing some looking too, especially if it’s for the chance to win an ASOS voucher!
ASOS contacted me and generously offered to give away TWO $25 vouchers for their store. ASOS carries plus size, straight size, accessories, shoes, men’s clothing.. SO MANY THINGS! This could be used toward anything on their site, and the winner gets the equivalent of US$25 in their own currency. For those above a size US 24, I find a lot of their items to fit me, and I wear a size 26/28.
I put together a list with the things I currently love, so take a look. You can click on the individual items to be taken to their product page. I also have a pinterest board with more.
1. Leave a comment here with a valid e-mail address telling me what you would spend the $25 on — a top, dress, shoes? What are you going to add to your closet? Visit the ASOS website to look around.
There will be TWO winners and each will receive the equivalent of a US$25 voucher. I will pull these winners at the end of day on Sunday, February 23rd using random.org!
So it’s time to announce the winners of the Foxcroft giveaway! Two lucky readers get their pick of a Foxcroft top. I entered in all of the valid entrants, and then used random.org to select random numbers.
Congrats to Amanda Kra. and Sarah Car.! I will be in touch with you this evening 🙂
As I have a need for more and more work wear, I’ve been looking into new-to-me brands that offer many styles to change things up. One of those brands is Foxcroft Collection. I’ve noticed the brand in the past when I shopped at Nordstrom, but I never realized how many choices they had on their brand website. When I was contacted by Foxcroft to do a review and giveaway, I was excited to try out one of their print styles (available in sizes 14W-24W — Main range covers sizes 4-18). I went for their sketched dot print long sleeve blouse and styled it for work, but this top is also great for more casual looks. Bekah from Matters of Merrymaking styled it with print crashing – love it!
I’m at the top of Foxcroft’s size range, and the top was a little tight across the bottom, but the sleeves were the perfect size, which is really hard for me to find. Even though it was a little tight for me, it still fit better than similar styles from other companies. The material has just the right amount of stretch, and the style has slits at the side to help fit those of us with wider hips.
Lola loved the top so much that she had to get in on this picture-taking action. Look at her pose; she’s a superstar :).
I love the button detail at the sleeve. The fabric that attaches to the button was the right length– a rare find! As you can see in the above picture, the slit at the side is about 3 inches long, which allows the top to move along with you.
I also wanted to show what the top looks like button up. I like it, but I think I would wear it tucked into a skirt with it all buttoned up this way.
Now for the giveaway details!
TWO entrants will win a Foxcroft Collection shirt of their choice (pending availability of style/size)!
1. To enter, visit the Foxcroft Collection website and select a style that you would want if you were to win. Like Foxcroft on Facebook, then come back to this post and comment with your Facebook name and/or your e-mail address and selected Foxcroft style. Thank you to everyone that entered! I loved hearing what you need to get through the holidays. This morning I went through the entries and took each valid one and put it in an excel sheet. Then I went to random.org and used the random number generator to find out our three winners. Here’s the results!
And the winners are…
Congratulations! I will be in contact today to get your information 🙂
I hope everyone has a great holiday season, and if you need to stock up on some holiday essentials, head over to justmysize.com!
*This giveaway is sponsored by Just My Size
The other day, the team at Just My Size (who I met in New York during FFFWeek) e-mailed me to say that they wanted to send me a little holiday gift. Just a couple days later I received the cutest holiday selections with everything I would need: a comfy shirt, underwear, a bra, and tights. It was lovely and thoughtful, but little did I know that they would then offer to send a holiday gift to three of you, personalized with your sizes in everything!
To enter to win a Holiday Essentials gift from JMS (sizes up to a 6x!), comment on this post with your personal holiday essential(s). What do you need most through the season? I think my essentials are tights and a deep red lipstick.
You can comment and enter through Monday, December 16. You must live in the United States and leave an email address or Twitter username to contact you through. Winners will be selected using random.org number generator.
Thank you, Just My Size, for the holiday goodies and sponsoring this giveaway!
It’s time to announce the winner of the Lovedrobe giveaway :). To pull a winner, I write down every entry in chronological order on en excel sheet. Everyone gets a number, again in chronological order, for every entry they posted. I then go to random.org, generate a random number, and whoever is next to that number wins the prize.
There were 119 entries in the giveaway:
Thanks for entering 🙂
A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Beth at Lovedrobe.com reached out to me to see if I’d like to review an item. I had definitely heard and seen the brand before, but had never bought from them because I thought they only went to a UK26 (US22). I was very wrong! When I went to the website, I saw many items up to a UK30/32 (US 26/28), so I agreed right away and they sent over a piece for me to try.
Looking at their site, I loved a lot of the items they carried. Lovedrobe incorporates different fabrics, patterns, colors, and details into their styles that make clothing items special. If I were to go on a spending spree, this is what I’d pick up:
For the review, I asked for a dress that was definitely outside of my comfort zone. It’s shorter and sassier than I usually go for, but I love clothing that allows me to express different aspects of myself or try new things.
I received the Koko Coral and Stone Geometric Pattern Dress in a UK 30/32. This dress is in a non-stretchy material, and I found the sleeves slightly tight. This isn’t unexpected, as I have bigger arms compared to my top/size, but it’s something to be aware of if you also are shaped that way. I loved the houndstooth pattern in coral. I often associate houndstooth with fall and winter, and this piece with the coloring is a perfect summer addition and can carry through to the fall. The top is quite fitted through the bust and waist, which I love. This part fit perfectly and I had plenty of room in the back and bust to move around.
The length is shorter than I usually go for. If I were to bend over, it’s possible that I’d show things that I’d rather not show. Granted, I have a big behind, so someone smaller there would not have the same issue. I recommend leggings/shorts, opaque tights if you also find it a bit short. I added a orangish-coralish belt and some casual bracelets for a simple, no-fuss summer look.
If the pattern is a little much for you, then a cardigan or jacket would be a perfect addition. I basically only wear jean jackets in the summer because it’s so easy to add to almost every look, so I wanted to show you that as well. I tried the dress with a jean vest, and that’s a cute look too. There’s plenty of room to play around with styling this piece.
And now to the best thing! Lovedrobe.com really wanted to also give away a piece to a reader and give you all a discount code to use during purchases through the remainder of July! You can receive 15% off of your purchase with the code PLUSSIDE (this code is now working!). They’ve recently put a lot of good items on sale, so there are some major sales to be had!
For the giveaway, one lucky entrant will win a dress of their choice from Lovedrobe. I love this giveaway because you can pick an item that is in your style and size range. This giveaway runs from today until 7/31 at 11:59pm EST. To enter, you must do the “leave a comment” entry, but all other entry methods are optional and earn extra entries. Best of luck, and I’m excited to hear which piece you would pick if you won!

Helloooooo! I was so excited by the number of people entering to win a piece by JSCollection, and I know the winner will be thrilled with whichever item she chooses :).
To select a winner, I went through and added every entry to my Excel sheet — 94 in all! I then went to Random.org to select a winner. As you can see in the right side, I put in the amount of entries and then generated a random number.
The winning number was 52!
And who exactly was in the number 52 spot?!
Georgia! I have to admit that I was thrilled to see that she won since she has been a great person to talk to and always enthusiastic.
Congrats Georgia! I will be in contact soon 🙂
By the way, here is a sneak peek at Jessica Simpson Collection Plus Sizes fall line, and you can see which items have been extended. These pieces should be arriving in stores this month or early next month. I’m hoping that eventually the entire line will be extended with the potential to extend further than a 24!
FALL BLOGGER PREVIEW (PDF file!)
I was so, so, so excited when an intern (who happens to share my name!) from Jessica Simpson Collection contacted me to try out an item from their line and then give an item away to a reader. I can’t brag enough on how nice my interaction with R. was, and I can tell that this company is excited to expand into plus-sizes. Jessica Simpson Collection carries high quality plus size dresses and separates, and most of their items are in sizes 12-20, although they told me that some of their Fall 2012 styles will be extended to sizes 22 & 24. Currently, you can order products from their direct site (linked above), or from Macys, Dillards, Lord and Taylor, amongst others.
So you might be wondering what a woman who is size 26/28 is doing working with a brand whose sizes only go up to a 20, but after trying on a JSC piece in NYC, I realized some (I haven’t tried on all styles!) of the pieces would work for me. Since I knew sizing could be an issue, I picked a style that looked like it eased through the hips, and I’ve been wanting to add more maxi dresses to my closet, so a perfect match was made!
I chose to review the Jessica Simpson Collection Plus Size Floral Maxi in a size 20, and I will say that my measurements are probably at the max for this dress at size 26/28.
This dress seemed perfect for a garden party (even though I’ve never been to one!) or a summer wedding or some other elegant summer event. The lining has some spandex in it, so it’s very easy to move around in and is not restricting at all. The top layer is a gorgeous, flowy material with delicate pinks, greens, creams, and oranges.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the front v-ish design of the gray straps, but I found them very supportive and they added a new style to my wardrobe. Although I neglected to take a picture of the back (oops), there is a stretch panel that accomodates various bust sizes and the grap strap below the bust opens at the back to be tied into a bow.
My favorite design aspect of the dress is that right under the bust the fabric gathers and waterfalls down (aren’t you impressed with my very un-fashion-y vocabulary), but it’s flat against the hips until it hits the bottom of the him where it gathers and creates more volume again. It’s very rare that I see details that are like “Wow! They are really thinking about my body here!” but it’s obvious that Jessica Simpson Collection understands that the curve of the hip is beautiful and should be shown off with a clean line rather than hid under lots of fabric.
At 5’4″ and at the max size for this dress, the length was perfect for me. I was wearing silver, flat sandals here, but I could also wear a slight heel with it. If you are smaller than me, the dress lay longer and have a more billowing effect.
The best thing about all of this is that Jessica Simpson Collection wants to give one of you an item from their line!
The winner will be e-mailed with 3 possible choices (one being the dress I’m wearing here), and then YOU can select which style you would like to win! Again, these are sizes 12-20, but as you can see in this dress, you may be able to fit even if you’re a larger size. That said, if it doesn’t fit, it’s still yours, so you’re free to give it to a loved friend or family member to enjoy!
Make sure to leave a valid email address. The giveaway entries close July 18th at 12:00AM, and I will announce the winner soon after! This giveaway is open internationally 🙂
