I decided to read Brooklyn after seeing the trailer for the movie. I have to admit that I found the book frustrating but perhaps honest to that historical moment. The main character was so, so passive. She seemed to easily fall in love and allow others to make choices for her life. It was different than the movie, so I’m interested to hear from others who read the book and what they thought.
