I can’t remember if Huguette Clark’s name came up in Fortune’s Children or if it was suggested to me after finishing the last book, but either way I led myself to read another book about a family of wealth in New York. It is very interesting to hear about the mansions that existed (some still standing) and how life was lived in New York at that time. Clark lived over 100 years, and the way life changed over this time span was fascinating to read. I listened to this in audiobook form, and they had clips of Clark talking as well as one of her nephews. I want to get my hands on the book as well, as I’m sure there are plenty of pictures of her homes that I missed just from listening.
